Specialized Coating Services specializes in contract services of conformal coating, encapsulating (potting) and ruggedization of printed circuit boards used in medical, military, aerospace, space, commercial and retail applications.

Founded in 1994, Specialized Coating Services has developed a strong reputation for surpassing customer expectations. Servicing the defense, medical, aerospace, commercial and retail industries over the past fourteen years, we've grown our business, worldwide, by providing quality products, on time delivery and promoting open communication with all of our customers and suppliers.

From offering assistance in the selection of coating, potting or ruggedizing materials to providing prototypes and establishing manufacturing processes which ensure consistent quality and repeatable finishes, Specialized Coating Services works diligently to provide each customer with unparalleled service and quality.

COMPANY HISTORY

1994:  Specialized Coating Services is founded with one customer with a need. Co-founders Rick Ramirez and Kim Atkins work nights and weekends in a garage to find the solution for that customer.

1997:  Moves into a 2000 square foot facility in Fremont, CA. working with four customers acquired through word of mouth. First four full time employees are hired.

1999:  Is awarded first large volume account in addition to servicing approximately twenty five accounts with the need for conformal coating and potting.

2001:  Moves into a 6000 square foot facility in Hayward, CA and grows to 35 employees. 

2002:  Receives initial ISO 9001:2000 certification. The customer base now expands to the military, aerospace, commercial and space industries.

2006:  Purchases a 15,000 square foot facility in Fremont, CA and grows to 60 employees. Receives ITAR registration and acquires additional sensitive military projects. Mechanical sub-assembly and burn-in capabilities are added to our resume.

2009:  Having grown our business over the years through word of mouth, quality service and open communication we have now employed our first sales force covering USA and Canada – Northeast US – Boston and Southern Ontario – Toronto.
